Raeburn Recruitment have a requirement for a Senior Buyer to work with our client. This is a permanent position and will be based in Aberdeen.

Role Description:
Carry out all the activities necessary to purchase goods and/or services/subcontracts, in compliance with given cost/time/quality requirements and with Corporate/Company policies and standards and work instructions.

Responsibilities:
§Issue to vendors the Request for Quotation based on given purchasing request
§Support the vendors during the preparation of the technical/commercial proposals with obligation of confidentiality about the related bid info
§Prepare the commercial/economic bid tabulation to compare different proposals and suggest actions to be taken in order to improve bid result and/or select the vendor
§Lead the commercial/economic negotiation
§Prepare the purchase or der/subcontract based on standard General Purchase Terms and Conditions and Project Special Purchase Conditions, if any, and managing possible deviations
§Close out the bid process receiving purchase/subcontract confirmation by selected vendor and informing the unsuccessful vendors about negative result of their bid
§Follow up and negotiate, if necessary, purchase order/subcontract revisions
§Perform the assigned activities in compliance with procedures and provided systems and tools
§Check and comment the technical documentation received with the Purchase Requisition and Technical Evaluation
§Manage contractual documentation (Archive) before the issue to centralized archive

Skills/Education:
§Knowledge of supply chain, inventory, production, warehousing, transport and logistic
§Capability to address rights and responsibilities in a legal perspective, highlighting pros and cons in relation to a certain variation, dispute or claim, distinguishing the commercial and legal constraints. Negotiation skills and accuracy in recording information and data related to a dispute
§Capability to persuade the counterparty and to understand negotiable and non-negotiable items. Capability to discuss and negotiate contractual terms, in order to reach agreements
§Knowledge of the contractual terms
§Capability to analyze the main contractual conditions relevant to the procurement process
§Knowledge of the main procurement systems for data handling with regard to analysis and reporting
§Knowledge of international standards and main compliance principles related to international codes and law (fiscal, tax, insurance, SOA, common and civil law principles)
§Knowledge of the market related to the relevant business area of activities, key players and price trend
§Knowledge of Management System Guidelines, standards, work instructions and tool systems referred to procurement process
§Knowledge of Project Procurement techniques in order to manage project peculiarities (onshore, offshore, drilling). Knowledge of project management principles applied to Procurement and familiarity with engineering/construction practices
§Capability to process the purchase requests throughout the entire purchasing cycle up to purchase order issue
