Our client now have a requirement for an experienced rotating equipment engineer to join them on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will be based in Aberdeen with regular trips to West Africa. Candidates with previous experience on board a FPSO will be preferred.


Overall Job Purpose
Technically responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of rotating equipment onboard the FPSO.

Core responsibilities
Act as Technical Authority on rotating equipment on the FPSO
Provide support and advice to the offshore maintenance team for rotating equipment.
Develop maintenance strategy for rotating equipment.
Review maintenance system work instructions to ensure that the accurately reflect the maintenance activities that has to be carried.
Updating maintenance work instructions when required.
Ensuring that rotating equipment is maintained to clients standards, Class, flag and coastal state regulations. Ensuring that major services are schedule in the operational plan. With suitable work instructions, spares availability and vendor support.
Review machinery performance and identify areas to improve equipment reliability and minimise maintenance costs.
Carry out engineering analysis on equipment with poor performance or failures.
Review vibration analysis, oil samples, condition monitor data and techniques.
Propose changes to maintenance and operational strategies to improve equipment performance.
Raise Management Of Change documentation document and formalise any engineering changes as required.
Produce work packs for major work scopes and modifications as required.
Contribute to technical, safety and failure investigations

Educational and Experience requirements
BEng or HND/HNC in Relevant Engineering discipline
Extensive experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer in an operational environment
Experience of Ariel reciprocating gas compressors and SOLAR gas turbines.
Extensive experience of Computer based Maintenance systems, in particular AMOS.
Extensive experience of Condition Based Maintenance strategies and technology associated with rotating equipment Onshore & Offshore experience including FPSO operations
Oil & Gas UK Medical certificate
Combined Survival/Fire-fighting/HUET
Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
