Project Environmental Advisor to be based in Aberdeen. Long term contract role for a deepwater campaign.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Technical/Functional -
§Develop and implement regulatory engagement strategy with map of compliance requirements
§Produce schedule of environmental consent and permit deliverables for progressing each phase of the project
§Develop the HSE&A Management System environmental content and implement the processes required for HSE&A compliance by the in country project team including safety case requirements
§Identifying appropriate scopes and securing services for major environmental requirements such as EIA
§Ensure that relevant environmental permit and consent applications or variations are prepared, recorded and submitted to the regulator and followed up (as appropriate).
§Identify and develop positive relationships with the appropriate regulatory bodies to support activities in country, and enable the submission of high quality applications on time.
§Participate in and ensure expert advice is provided in relation to HSE&A risk reduction processes (e.g. risk assessment HAZID/HAZOP). Co-ordinate the safety case requirements in support of the project requirements, in particular in drilling phases.
§Conduct visits in support of improving environmental performance and maintaining effective workforce engagement.
§Contribute to the development of a risk based & costed annual HSE&A Plan for environmental activities. Maintain the Plan and execute its requirements.
§Carry out or assist with offshore/onshore environmental audits/inspections, compile reports and ensure that actions are followed up as appropriate.
§Provide performance data and attend and contribute to relevant team, departmental and company meetings Engage with Contractors & participate in Contractor ITTs and performance reviews as may be required.
§Support the development and implementation of environmental related training requirements

Qualifications/Training:
§Health, Safety, Environmental or Risk degree or equivalent.
§Additional Health, Safety or Environmental qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IEMA or equivalent.)
§Offshore Survival & Medical Certification
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
§Extensive experience working in the environmental field within the Oil & Gas industry.
§Excellent working knowledge of the principles of international offshore environmental legislation.
§Demonstrable experience of the successful delivery and execution of project environmental milestones in drilling projects.
§Environmental Auditing or inspection experience and/or qualifications
