Operate, monitor and control hydrocarbon process and utility equipment in a safe and efficient manner as directed within Company and Statutory regulations to achieve production targets.
Also carry out maintenance activities within agreed scope of authority and within competence level to suit operational needs and optimise the use of resources.
Identify cost effective improvements to operations and maintenance tasks that will enhance safety and/or reliability performance.

Qualifications required:
Successful attainment of Level 3 SVQ competence award in Processing Operations: Hydrocarbons, and, where appropriate, Maintenance competence standard (Operations Technicians except Operator) or equivalent.

Skills required:
Completion of all OJT Modules Questionnaires and Practical Tasks.
Successful completion of Permit to Work OJT and competency assessment as Authorised Person Mechanical, Area Authority and Authorised Gas Tester.
Control room experience essential

Experience required:
Minimum of 3 years process operating experience is required in the oil production, refining or petrochemical industries; or Engineering apprenticeship, preferably qualified to ONC, City and Guilds, Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) or BTEC (EDEXEL) standard followed by at least 3 years practical experience in the maintenance of equipment in the oil production, refining or petrochemicals industries.
