An immediate requirement for a Legal Counsel on a short term basis for our client in Uxbridge.

This role provides legal support and advice to various areas within the business including joint venture negotiations, product transportation agreements, product sales and marketing, procurement of goods and services, acquisitions & divestments and disputes. Support to teams dealing with the regulators will also be required. The individual will require to support a number of key stakeholders across a number of stakeholder groups and be fully integrated with the rest of the Legal/Company Secretarial/Commercial teams.

Technical/Functional - the role covers a range of functions, and specific tasks will vary but will typically include:
·Assisting in the protection of Company's legal rights and the identification of Company's legal obligations.
·Monitoring changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and taking appropriate action;
·Liaising with external regulators and advisers, such as external law firms;
·Providing legal advice in relation to all aspects of the Company's business from the UK. This includes a substantial offshore businesses so UKCS experience is essential.
·Advising on regulatory compliance issues, in particular in relation to production licences under the Petroleum Act and also in relation to matters involving OGA, BEIS and HSE. Experience of working with these regulators and understanding their powers and obligations is essential.
·Participating in joint venture negotiations including forming of consortiums for licence bid purposes, drafting of JOAs and associated documentation.
·Drafting and negotiation of Sale and Purchase Agreements, Exchange Agreements and Farm-in/Farm-out Agreements.
·Liaison with and support to Supply Chain in relation to procurement for production operations and capital projects.

Qualified solicitor: England and Wales/Scotland
Several years post qualification experience in a similar role required in order to demonstrate (1) the ability to operate with a degree of independence; and (2) the ability to handle a busy and extremely diverse workload.

·Experience working in an in-house energy legal team or looking for a first in-house position with in-house secondment experience in UKCS matters.
