Our client a leading Oil and Gas Operator is seeking a Lead Process Engineer for a contract position based in Aberdeen. Start dates is ASAP.

Main Activities:

Site Support:

§Provide site operations and SMART room personnel with direct technical support ensuring continual cost effective improvement of process equipment in support of maximising production safely.
§Analyse and resolve production / process / flow assurance issues utilising appropriate techniques, liaising with asset Field Operations, Performance and Growth and SHE departments and with Group / 3rd party specialists where necessary.
§Propose and justify modifications to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, production, environmental and cost performance.

Process Engineering and Studies:

§Lead process studies for plant modifications related to process discipline or multi-discipline.
§Ensure preparation of clear, concise and comprehensive RFM dossiers, and effective handover to asset Maintenance Team or 3rd Party Engineering Company for detailed engineering and implementation.
§Ensure appropriate process engineering input to Modification Dossiers, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Risk Assessments, SIL assessments and other technical safety assessments / audits, both during the actual assessment and during subsequent action resolution.
§Approve as built & design process documentation in line with delegated responsibilities from the Process Technical Authority.
§Prepare scopes of work for 3rd party vendor / consultancy services to carry out study works.
§Monitor progress of 3rd parties carrying out study / design and engineering work to ensure timely and cost effective resolution of production / safety / integrity issues.


§Provide leadership for direct reports: work direction, technical guidance, checking work / project progress, identify team resources, setting priorities and time schedules.
§Develop and maintain good working relationships with asset site personnel, other TEP UK business units and 3rd party contractors and vendors through effective communication and regular site visits.
§Participate in professional development / mentoring of less experienced engineers.
§Monitor costs and ensure that expenditures are within budget values.

Specific Requirements:

§Degree in Process/Chemical Engineering.
§Appropriate experience in oil and gas process/production.
§Good knowledge of onshore/offshore/pipeline process and production systems.
§Good computer skills - technical, office, process modelling systems, etc.
§Knowledge of industry norms and specifications.
§Experience of working on an operations site environment, either on or offshore is a plus.
§Full suite of offshore certification (BOSIET, Medical, MIST, etc.)
