Our client now has an immediate requirement for an instrument engineer to join their team on a staff basis. Previous experience with FPSOs is preferred.

The Instrument Engineers job objective is to provide instrument/control maintenance support to off-shore installations in accordance with procedures. All activities will be performed in accordance with Corporate Management System.
The Instrument Engineers responsibilities include acting as the onshore technical focal point for matters on control/instrumentation as well as providing support to offshore installations for all instrument/low voltage maintenance requirements. They will also be required to provide technical support with regards to the repair and maintenance of installation equipment and reviewing planned maintenance routines. Other responsibilities include advising on competency assessments, raising modification requests, raising contract service orders (technical work scopes) for vendors, reviewing technical content of maintenance frame agreements and determining spares requirement for items of equipment. The Instrument Engineer will actively contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives.


A creative and organised Instrument Engineer with excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability. Furthermore:

§HNC/HND or BSc in Instrument Engineering or equivalent (Chartered/Incorporated Engineer would be preferable)
§Offshore North Sea experience as Instrument/Control Engineer
§Understanding of UK legislation
§Fiscal Metering Experience
