Our client have an immediate requirement for an experienced Instrument Engineer to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract ,this position would be based in Aberdeen with regular trips to West Africa.

Overall Job Purpose
Technically responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of Instrumentation and control systems equipment onboard a FPSO.

Core responsibilities
Act as Technical Authority on Instrumentation and control systems equipment.
Provide support and advice to the offshore maintenance team for on Instrumentation and control systems equipment.
Develop maintenance strategy for on Instrumentation and control systems equipment, with particular focus on strategy for equipment that is/or becoming obsolete.
Review maintenance system work instructions to ensure that the accurately reflect the maintenance activities that has to be carried.
Updating maintenance work instructions when required. Ensuring that on Instrumentation and control systems equipment is maintained to clients standards, Class, flag and coastal state regulations.
Ensuring that major services are schedule in the operational plan. With suitable work instructions, spares availability and vendor support.
Review on Instrumentation and control systems equipment performance and identify areas to improve equipment reliability and minimise maintenance costs.
Carry out engineering analysis on equipment with poor performance or failures.
Review control loop, network health, condition monitor data and techniques. Propose changes to maintenance and operational strategies to improve equipment performance. Raise Management Of Change documentation document and formalise any engineering changes as required.
Produce work packs for major work scopes and modifications as required.
Contribute to technical, safety and failure investigations

Educational and Experience requirements
BEng or HND/HNC in Relevant Engineering discipline
Extensive experience as an Instrument Engineer in an operational support environment.
Experience of Distributed control system, in particular Yokogawa Stardom and ProSafe systems.
Extensive experience of Computer based Maintenance systems, in particular AMOS.
Onshore & Offshore experience including FPSO operations.
Oil & Gas UK Medical certificate
Combined Survival/Fire-fighting/HUET
Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
