We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, an Oil and Gas Operator based in Aberdeen, are looking for a HSE Advisor to join their team on a long-term contract basis.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:


.Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy.


.Undertakes the role in line with corporate policy and demonstrates behaviours in line with the Company's values at all times. Readily accepts accountability.


.Carries out duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk.


.Act as focal point for the maintenance and improvement of the Company Control of Work processes and liaise with IT regarding associated software modifications and upgrades. Assist in the effective communication of all such changes to relevant workforce and report to management on system effectiveness.
.Support the asset advisors to ensure that all relevant environmental permit and consent applications are submitted to the regulator.
.Ensure compliance with UK offshore oil and gas HSE legislation/guidance and other requirements or company standards.
.Ensure regulatory requirements are understood and develop processes within the UK Management System to support asset compliance.
.If requested by the asset advisor, provide offshore HSE Support.
.Carry out or assist with offshore/onshore HSE audits/inspections, compile reports and ensure that actions are followed up as appropriate.
.Carry out or assist with incident investigations, compile reports and ensure that actions are followed up as appropriate.
.Develop robust campaigns to ensure that relevant HSE issues are identified and materials prepared to facilitate communication to appropriate personnel or groups.
.Participate in and provide expert advice in relation to HSE risk assessments.
.Attend and contribute to relevant team, departmental and company meetings .
.If requested by the asset, provide support to compile and distribute or submit relevant HSE data including returns to EEMS, statistics for weekly/monthly meetings, annual atmospheric sheets, waste returns, drilling chemical returns etc, etc.
.Build positive relationships with Regulatory inspectors and Regulatory Managers and other regulators.
.Provide support to asset advisors to ensure that any Regulatory inspections/investigations are closed out to the satisfaction of the regulator.
.If requested by the asset support with the preparation of material in support of the regular meetings including BDMs, partner meetings, regulatory meetings.
.Participate in the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the company's HSE management system and improvement programmes.


.Collaborates with others in the team and looks for opportunities to leverage their network and work with others to develop safe, practical and effective solutions.

.Degree or equivalent (risk, science or environmental).
.Environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA or equivalent.) (preferred).
.H&S Qualification (NEBOSH or MSc preferred).
.Offshore Survival Certificate.

.Relevant experience working in the HSE field within the UK Oil & Gas industry.
.Excellent working knowledge of UK offshore HSE legislation.
.Working knowledge of EEMS and the Oil and Gas HSE portal.
.Excellent communication, organisational and facilitation skills.
.IT literate good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint software.
.Strong team player who is also capable of producing quality work on an individual basis.
