Objectives:

To provide a high quality, reliable and professional service in accordance with Company standards and which meets the needs of individuals whilst promoting their privacy, dignity, and independence at all times.

Duties will include but not limited to:

Provide high quality care to individuals in their own home whilst adhering to the Codes of Practice for the National Care Standards and Scottish Social Service Council
To deliver care and other tasks as stated in the Service User personal plan
To assist the Service User with the following activities whilst promoting the Service Users independence, privacy and dignity at all times - this can include but it not limited to personal care, meal preparation, medication assistance, light housework, laundry, assistance with incontinence aids, and any other task indicated in the Service Users personal plan
To comply with the use of electronic monitoring ensuring all visits are logged in and out of
To maintain written records during visits in all Service User homes and to report back promptly any concerns regarding the care and / or Service User to company office staff
Continually reassess the care being provided to Service Users and the risks identified with the provision of care ensuring that the Service Users folder is updated and office staff are made aware of any changes
Where appropriate, and under guidance from company office staff or Care Managers, liaise with relatives, GPs and other healthcare professionals
Shadow and supervise new Home Care Workers enabling them to complete accurate paperwork and work within the guidelines of Company policies and procedures
Acknowledge own limitations and training requirements and to actively seek to keep all necessary clinical skills up-to-date
To maintain personal development and be willing to work towards a relevant qualification (SVQ or NVQ Level 2 & 3, or equivalent.)
To work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and public holidays
