Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Our oil and gas service client is looking to speak with Electrical & Instrumental Quality Technicians for a permanent opportunity based in Gloucester.

This role will involve;
-Build or set up equipment (data acquisition systems), conduct experiments, and collect data and calculate results
-Ability to set-up, configure data acquisitions system software, example NI daq, NI Labview
-Setup and use of instrumentation including; pressure sensors, accelerometers, flow meters and thermocouples.
-Theoretical and practical knowledge IEEE 17th edition regulations.
-Experience of cable layout and installation and be able to construct and route cabling from verbal instructions, circuit diagram sketches or electrical schematics
-Good soldering skills at connector and PCB level, (certification to IPC 610 highly desirable)
-Ability to use all functions on a DMM, and oscilloscopes
-Assist with the design and development of electrical test fixtures
-Undertake timely diagnosis and fault finding.
-Ability to identify and report any tool and calibration requirements on EE equipment

High desirable / Preferred skills ;
-Knowledge of environmental testing
-Knowledge of PID control and tuning.
-Knowledge of inverters, 3 phase motors and programmable Logic controllers
-Knowledge of Vibration, Shock, Climatic and Temperature testing, HALT or HASS methodologies
-Ability to construct prototype or experimental test jigs for circuit boards
-Mechanical assembly and problem-solving skills
-Knowledge or experience of working with high voltage systems
