Our client is currently recruiting for a Contracts Analyst on a contract basis in Aberdeen.

Contracts & Procurement Manager
26 June - end November 2017 (with potential for further annual reviews)

Preparation, negotiation, award and monitoring the administration of contracts/purchase orders for works/goods/services in such a manner as to ensure the Companys best commercial interests are both served and protected.
Providing a cost-effective and efficient contracts service to internal clients.
Identifying opportunities to enhance the performance of the supply chain.

Promote the Contracts function as being a managed process which requires timely input from technical departments.
As Duet member, interface with technical counterpart, and provide support.
Establish contracting policy together with Duet counterpart to find synergies and/or reduce exposure of Company.
Review and consider the legal aspects associated with contracts, liaising with the Legal Department, and providing advice to clients as appropriate.
Propose, pre-qualify and recommend suitable contractors/suppliers for bid lists to maximise tendering efficiency.
integrate the technical part of the ITT package received from Technician with relevant commercial documentation
Compile and issue tender packages to procure the most realistic and commercially attractive proposals from potential contractors/suppliers.
Draft appropriate contractual and commercial terms and conditions to best serve and protect the Companys interests.
Manage the tender request and clarification process.
Evaluate contractors tender submissions.
Prepare and present internal recommendations to award.
Negotiate, prepare and issue final contracts in a timely manner.
Proactively manage specific internal customer group(s) in terms of contract planning and management.
Proactively build and maintain relationships with clients, through the establishment of a highly visible presence within client locations, in order to establish and maintain a highly effective service.
Proactively build and maintain relationships with suppliers in order to secure positive, constructive and cost effective commercial agreements for the Company.
Be open to receive representatives.
Follow the market in active way, and gather and use information received to Company advantage.

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Law or Engineering, ideally with a post-graduate qualification in a complementary area.
Practical experience in preparation and negotiation of technical contracts.
Experience in the offshore oil or petrochemical industries.
Experience of negotiating indemnity, insurance and liability provisions Basic understanding of the technical area in which the Duet technical counterpart operates.
Willingness to share expertise and transfer knowledge to Duet technical counterpart.
Understanding of the specific market relating to the technical area in which the job-holder operates with the Duet.
Knowledge and understanding of commercial, insurance and legal issues affecting the Company / technical area.
Demonstrable understanding of the technologies existing within the oil and gas industry.
