Job Title: Corrosion Engineer The candidate is expected to take responsibility for influencing, goal setting, action planning, and decision making with a team of National engineers. The supervision is more to encourage the individual, to challenge him/herself to even higher levels of performance and to provide opportunities to share knowledge and skills while mentoring and teaching others. Role & Responsibilities: The Corrosion Engineer will serve as technical advisor and consultant to our client, providing specialised engineering assistance and advice for activities relating to all phases of corrosion management such as recommend standards, methods, designs and procedures for specialised processes to be used in our clients operations including fixed equipment inspection. The candidate will be expected to exhibit technical competence in areas of risk based inspection assessments, material specifications, metallurgy, cathodic protection, coatings and chemical treatment relating to our clients operations. The candidate must be capable of working with limited supervision and be proactive in the performance of responsibilities. The position is offered on a rotational basis with an Algerian B2B. Duties & Responsibilities: Set safety as a first priority in performing duties and set the example for others Develop strategies to mitigate corrosion in each system Develop chemical treating bid specifications, evaluate vendors and monitor effectiveness of chemical treating programs in their operations Monitor and evaluate operation of cathodic protection systems for the clients facilities Recommend, review and approve protective coatings specifications for their operations. Monitor effectiveness of integrity programs, develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators for these programs Provide Corrosion Engineering support to Production and Exploitation for operational problems – long term and short term. Provide expertise to wells team for downhole corrosion Provide expertise to CPF team for surface corrosion Monitor corrosion in all fluid systems Manage contractors performing corrosion integrity related work, ensure deliverables quality in accordance with contract specifications Train, guide and assist engineering and operating personnel in the application and/or maintenance of corrosion control programs Coordinate reporting and information flow to various functions Essential & Preferred skills: Commitment to Integrity Management as the embodiment of corporate responsibility and accountability Computer literacy & experience including Microsoft office etc Highly effective interpersonal and influencing skills Able to establish cooperative relationships with all levels of personnel from front line operators to executive management Good facilitator, Mentor and Coaching Skills English language Confined Space Training French or Arabic language Experience: Comprehensive process/production/pipeline facilities development and operations experience Considerable experience in field troubleshooting in refinery or oil and gas industry External and Internal Corrosion Control programs Experience is required in all the key responsibilities(above) including working within a multi-discipline oil and gas operations & maintenance team. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Science discipline; Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering degree Accreditation by a recognized body API510, API 570, ANST Level II UT, PT and WFMT Certifications NACE Cathodic Protection specialist, Coating Inspector certifications Knowledge and ability to perform Risk Based Inspection per API 580 and API 581 Please note, we prefer to receive your CV as a Microsoft Word document as our system gives priority to applications in this format.
