Our Client is an Operator based in Aberdeen who is looking to take on a Specialist EHS (Drilling) for a long term project based in Aberdeen.

Due to the nature of the role, suitable candidates will reside in or near Aberdeen, UK.

Job Summary:
1) The purpose of this position is to provide support on a range of environmental issues to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
2) This support will be provided in both onshore (in the UK) and potentially international locations and is in line with the Company HSE&A objectives and targets as well as specific HSE team objectives and targets.

Responsibilities:
1) Develop a risk based & costed annual HSE&A Plan for relevant activities. Maintain the Plan and execute its requirements.
2) Develop the HSE&A Management System and implement the processes required for HSE&A Compliance by the In Country Team, including regulatory requirements.
3) Ensure that relevant environmental permit and consent applications or variations are prepared, submitted to the regulator and followed up (as appropriate).
4) Ensure that the relevant data relating to permits and consents is compiled, distributed and submitted to relevant bodies.
5) Develop positive relationships with the In Country Regulators to support activities in country, and enable the submission of high quality applications on time.
6) Participate in and ensure expert advice is provided in relation to HSE&A risk reduction processes (e.g. risk assessment HAZID/HAZOP).
7) Support the development of safety case requirements, in particular in drilling phases.
8) Facilitate the completion of actions identified by regulator inspections/investigations.
9) Advise the team to enable compliance with in country offshore oil and gas HSE&A legislation/guidance and other requirements or company standards.
10) Attend project HSE&A meetings, etc; in particular adhere to MCRS process.
11) Support & participate in the Incident Investigation process and monitor quality of reports and follow-up actions.

Qualifications/training:
1 )Health, Safety, Environmental or Risk degree or equivalent
2) Additional Health, Safety or Environmental qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IEMA or equivalent.) (preferred)
3) Offshore Survival Certificate.
4) Offshore Medical

Knowledge/skills/experience:
1) 10 Years Minimum Relevant experience working in the HSE&A field within the Oil & Gas industry.
2) Excellent working knowledge of offshore environmental legislation.
3) Experience of working under regulatory regimes other than in the UK.
4) Experience of managing teams to deliver HSE&A best in class performance
5) Excellent communication, organisational and facilitation skills.
6) Environmental Auditing or inspection experience and/or qualifications
7) IT literate - good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.
8) Strong team player who is also capable of producing quality work on an individual basis.
