Raeburn are handling an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join a client in Bicester on a permanent basis.

Profile
1) Practical and dynamic: Experience ranging from working on challenging research projects with a high degree of autonomy, to operating as part of a large team employing development methodologies (e.g. Agile).

2) Able to lead projects:
a) Relevant project management or operational experience
b) Experience of managing new product introduction and volume production would be an advantage

3) Breadth of technical knowledge in both hardware and software development
a) Strong theoretical knowledge in electronics and computer science to bachelors or masters level
b) Experience of developing products for industrial applications

Education
1) Educated to degree or masters level in electronic engineering, computer science or other relevant engineering or applied science discipline.
2) Possibly recent PHD or few years in industry but would look at more senior candidates as well.

Technical Skills
Ideally some, or all, of the following skills:
1) Programming languages: Python, C, C++, Assembler, Dot.net, PHP, SQL
2) Operating Systems: Linux, Windows
3) CAD tools: EasyPC, Altium, OrCAD, SolidWorks
4) Communications: USB, Power over Ethernet, Bluetooth, WIFI, GSM, 3G, 5) Mesh networking
6) SCM: Git, Subversion, Mercurial, ClearCase

Nice to have
1) Mathematics: MATLAB, Scilab, Python
2) Simulation: LTSpice, Microwave Office, COMSOL
3) Architectures: PIC, ARM, MSP430,
4) FPGA development: Altera, Xilinx

Experience
1) Development of products from concept through to production.
a) Ideally sensor solutions, or industrial internet of things (IIOT),
2) Capable of putting prototype systems together quickly. Capable of optimising algorithms and code to produce a high-performance system.
3) Embedded systems from components to microcontrollers and ASIC/FPGA through, to entire systems
4) Development of products for harsh environments and certification, e.g. IECEx, ATEX, DNV-GL etc.
5) Some experience of programming control systems, communications and interfacing is not a must but could be an advantage in this role, for example:
a) Profibus, CAN bus, 4 - 20 mA, HART, Wireless HART, Mod Bus, PLCs etc.
