Quality Testing Technician (Electrical)

Our oil and gas service client is looking to speak with Electrical Quality Technicians for a permanent opportunity based in Gloucester.

This role will involve;
- Build or set up equipment (data acquisition systems), conduct experiments, and collect data and calculate results
- Ability to set-up, configure data acquisitions system software, example NI daq, NI Labview
- Setup and use of instrumentation including; pressure sensors, accelerometers, flow meters and thermocouples.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge IEEE 17th edition regulations.
- Experience of cable layout and installation and be able to construct and route cabling from verbal instructions, circuit diagram sketches or electrical schematics
- Good soldering skills at connector and PCB level, (certification to IPC 610 highly desirable)
- Ability to use all functions on a DMM, and oscilloscopes
- Assist with the design and development of electrical test fixtures
- Undertake timely diagnosis and fault finding.
- Ability to identify and report any tool and calibration requirements on EE equipment

High desirable / Preferred skills
- Knowledge of environmental testing
- Knowledge of PID control and tuning.
- Knowledge of inverters, 3 phase motors and programmable Logic controllers
- Knowledge of Vibration, Shock, Climatic and Temperature testing, HALT or HASS methodologies
- Ability to construct prototype or experimental test jigs for circuit boards
- Mechanical assembly and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge or experience of working with high voltage systems
