We are currently recruiting for an experienced Machine Shop Manager to be based in the UAE for our client, a well established manufacturing business and leading supplier to the Oil and Gas Industry.

Overview:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience within the oil and gas industry. The role entails managerial responsibility for a department of 35 employees, including 2 supervisors, working closely with the team to ensuring that they meet a number of KPIs that include manufacturing efficiency, quality improvement, waste reduction and on-time delivery. The Machine Shop Manager will also manage both the team and the manufacturing process towards improvement, maximum balance of output and quality though successful planning, organisation, optimisation, maintenance and health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
1) Co-ordinate and control the daily operation of machine shop personnel so as to provide a safe, secure and efficient working environment.
2) Control, direct and monitor, machine shop resources, operations and facilities in order to adhere to project/programme schedules.
3) Manage and direct a team of skilled and technically based individuals, through sound personnel practices.
4) Identification of training needs and coaching alongside departmental succession planning.
5) Continuously review machining procedures and capability in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods and make recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
6) Review tooling use and suppliers in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods.
7) Monitor and report progress through daily & weekly production meetings and notify any predicted shortfall or discrepancies against planned programme.

Experience:
1) Minimum 5-7 years of experience with the operation of machines, tool setup, editing and production environments.
2) Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing schedules, workflow, safety, personnel, and equipment.
